ain't life grand?
You know what's so amazing about taking pictures? You get to be a part of people's happiness and share in their most intimate moments and experiences.
Today I did a family portrait session and tonight a pre-wedding party. When I got home I put a bunch of prints up on my bedroom wall. (Ironically, my walls were totally bare until 10 minutes ago... now they're looking much better). As I was sticky-puddying images to my wall, the most incredible feeling of humility and gratefulness washed over me.
I love taking pictures. I don't even know how to begin explaining it without sounding cliche - but the thrill of capturing the perfect combination of emotion and light is beyond compare. The fact that people are now starting to invite me into their lives to document their special moments is absolutely incredible.
As I travel along this path, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. The love between two people and the strength of a family unit are the most precious gifts we've been given - and here I am freezing these moments for all time! Wow! I don't know how I've landed in this space but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it lasts for a long, long time.

nice sentiment, and an impressive collection of photos for such a short time. The one in the lower left... what part is foreground and what part is background?! it's messing with my head, very cool.
